Season Updates
Remembering Lauralee
2008 has been described in a multitude of words that generally relate to economics. And the majority of us want to put the year aside and move positively forward into 2009 with hope and optimism.

But Lauralee Minion, our long time friend, is not thinking of what's to come in 2009. Lauralee lost her 2 year battle with ovarian cancer in August 2008. But Lauralee gave us a gift. She gave us the opportunity to look beyond ourselves and give from the heart.

In June, our company participated in Lauralee's secret home makeover project. It was the reaching out of her sisters that made us aware of the need that existed to update Lauralee's St. Louis Park home. Her health and medical expenses did not financially allow for necessary improvements to her home of almost 20 years and we along with others donated our time, materials and labor.

Our staff installed a new front yard foundation landscaping around the home including new rock and shrubs. A drainage correction was also performed to alleviate existing water problems. The front entryway concrete was veneered with paver overlayment and a new paver patio was created in the backyard along with a paver overlayment being applied to the back door entry step & sidewalk. The results were fabulous and Lauralee's first words were "those ugly bushes are gone!" She was thoroughly shocked, both with the exterior and the interior and thanked everyone from the bottom of her heart with tears in her eyes, which brought tears to ours.

So remember to appreciate each new day. Look forward with hope and optimism. And spend quality time with your family & friends in 2009.

Team L&R

Stride Ride 2008
Most of us know the words "Muscular Dystrophy". But unknown to most of us, is that there are over 40 neuromuscular diseases included in the genetic, hereditary group of muscle diseases that causes progressive skeletal muscle weakness. L&R participated in the Stride Ride 2008 supporting the Muscular Dystrophy Association fundraising efforts. There were 295 stride/riders and $65,768 was raised for the MDA, which provides a wide range of comprehensive services, treatments & research for all of those individuals afflicted with MD.
